TN Books and Wargames are pleased to announce -

The first annual -

Halloween Havoc!

This scarily spooky spectacular will take place on the 24th and 25th October 2009, at the Crofton Centre, Stubbington Nr Fareham in Hampshire.

For the following systems:-

Warhammer - 2,000 - 2,500 points using a modified ETC rules system.

40k - 1750 points, No comp as such but we reserve the right to refuse any list that we deem inappropriate, so please think about your list before sending it in.

Hordes/Warmachine - This has been confirmed as a Privateer Press event so all that goes with that will be available and will be run by a press ganger.

FOW - 1500 pts, Late War, Matt from Battlefront will be helping with the lists for this and will also sort the refereeing for this event.

Blood Bowl - LRB5 + 3 new teams, TR110, we will be trying to make this a NAF ranked event.

There will be a total of 5 games over the course of the tournament.

The cost will be £29 for the weekend and this will include lunch on both days and there will be a bar for all you thirsty gamers. Rules packs will follow soon.

TN Books and Wargames who are sponsoring this event have kindly agreed to donate, a total prize in each system of £75, to be broken down to £45 for 1st Place, £20 for 2nd Place and £10 for 3rd Place, redeemed against goods purchased in their shop!. There will also be a trade stand on both days.

We will also be having some fun “spot prizes” on both days, so when you think that you aren’t doing so well, you may get rewarded after all!.

Hi

What sort of numbers are you looking at for each event - ruffy?

And what is the address of the venue?

Thanks

Jon

Hi Jon,

We are looking for around 44 for WFB, 32 for 40k, 20 for H/WM and 16 each for the other systems. This is obviously a rough idea as numbers are bound to change. The address of the venue is Crofton Centre, Stubbington Lane, Stubbington, Fareham, Hants.

I hope this helps!.

Cheers

Nick

What sort of points total are you looking at for the 40K? So I know if I need to go out and buy anything :)

Yeah we are doing 40k at 1750 points, this seems to be the norm and the boys who played at Pillage liked it so that's what we are going with.

Cheers

This is very tempting. Anywhere good, cheap and close for accommodation?

Any more insight on the changes to the ETC rules?

Rich,

We are looking into sorting a list out for accomadation, it will be included in the rules packs, hopefully sometime next week. The only changes to the ETC rules will be small ones so basically we will try are hardest to make things competitive but fun, again some more details soon.

I'm sorry to be so vague, I have my trolls working on it as we speak so that everybody wll have an idea sooner rather than later.

Cheers

Cool, I'll keep my eyes peeled for the rules pack and my fingers crossed it doesn't fill up too quickly. Probably wouldn't be too much of a pain to stay at the same place I stayed for the SCGT I suppose, only looks about half an hours away or so. But I suppose something closer would be better, checked out the Holiday Inn in Fareham and it's pretty expensive. Anyway, look forward to reading the pack. Could you pencil me in for 2 places? Tourneys in the south seem rare so it seems wise to get on board one asap when they crop up.

If we can pencil in places, can I reserve 1 for the 40K side in the name of Steve Hedger?

oh are you sure a cash prize is the right idea. it may bring out the worst in some players.... i can imagine some of the more (ahem...) keen people bringing there nastiest lists and going all out, meaning the person they play does not enjoy there game.

all i can say i can imagine a couple of the characters we had at the pillage taking things serious when it was a piece of tin up fro grabs but with £75....

you could always break this down to the top 3. £45, £20 and say £10... just a idea though

Martin,

That seems like as very good idea, what do the rest of you guys think, by the way it isn't a "cash" prize as such it is to be redeemed against goods in TN Books shop. I will however talk to my guys and that coupled with any responses on here we might change it.

Cheers

I'd say split the prizes. At least 3 people go home more than happy that way...

The prizes have now been split as per Martin's suggestion, so that should make for some more happy people!. Thanks to everyone who responded.

Other than when playing Magic I've never seen the cheating level ramp up because a prize is on offer. Frankly I see more cheating or dubious play in WFB than any other game I've played so I doubt it will make a difference anyway.

Count me in on the WHFB front!

Oh, and could anyone give a brief summary of what the ETC rules actually are? (or even better a link!)

No probs, any chance of your real name so I can add it to the list?. If you look in the ETC warhammer championship link you will find the rules, but we will be chaning a few things and the rulespacks will be up this week (all being well with the trolls  )
