New Mission format

I think the new missions format is a big step fwd for us...the victory conditions IMO are better.

I agree trick. It also means the victory conditions check is probably not needed.

So now that that is fixed (maybe with a few more small adjustments) what other significant issues are there with V4? I don't mean complaints about how Recce has changed, or any other rule change that people don't like, I mean what else is fundimentally unclear or exploitable?

Steve it would be helpful if you could post your list of issues that the facebook group is dealing with. How many are core rules issues and how many are lists issues?

Core issue --> new morale rules with the same army points is a major problem in the balance. Russians got an incredible boost while Veteran armies have a major issue, especially with small platoons like the Finnish tank hunters...

So I see that as a list issue. What I'm trying to ask is are there any fundimental issues in the rules? Not things that Phil intended to change and you don't like (such as Recce being changed which many are objecting to) but glaring errors in the rules.

The issue of platoon size is that some small platoons will be just as fragile, the bigger platoons harder to break, but just as easy to push off an objective. also that big soviet blob cannot be strung out as much as in the past and still be in command so I think that might balance out a bit - we need a few competitions to see how it goes, especially with the new more missions. One definite positive is that now if I shoot at teams on an objective, the ones I choose take the hits unless a few are mistaken targeted away.

A big issue is the aircraft
Some are Now hopelessly ineffecient while others have become outrageously overpowered
And all planes are very very hard to stop


Regarding the Big platoons and their morale.. Well it is only teams within Command distance that counter, This means that the soviet horde has to clump together making it a very Nice arty target

Also having played a few games my experience is This: "fear the veteran inf more than anything Else" the Will come out on top Of V.4

I second the comment about veteran vs conscript infantry. Conscripts die in huge numbers to artillery templates.

I would fear conscript heavy tanks much more than I would fear conscript infantry.

As issues I would say air. Platoons off table counting towards moral.

Other things maybe list issues etc.

But with the currant moral check, will you really expose your formations to artillery from round one with 40% of your points in reserve?

The Problem is that every thing that is changed could affect the ballance in total, so we should take some time with more playtesting before we look at that.

No difference to now.

Artillery is good vs softer targets. It does not count round one shooting as a repeat.

Someone would have to have heaps of artillery to brake a formation in the early rounds. So it's different how to design your formation and what goes on table.

There are some other bits but can't remember at the moment.
