Battle Plans question

Postby Angelfred » Fri Apr 13, 2018 4:51 pm

Guys,

Questions on the rules pack just to be sure.

« Battle Plans » => they are not the same as the ones from More Missions, right ?
I mean, the mission plaid by everybody is drawn at the beginning of the round, everybody plays the same scenario, correct ?

« Battle Plans » => revealed or secrets ?
Match up system, step 1. Team A puts one of its 6 armies ... is the « Battle Plan » revealed then ?
Same for step 2, Team B puts 2 armies against the one of Team A ... is their « Battle Plan » revealed as well ?
Or we determine the pairing of army A vs army B, and then we reveal the « Battle Plan » of both armies ?

Hi Fred,

as far as I understood missions will be determined by the BF Matrix for each single game.

Cheers

Not sure about this Thomas ...

Schedule and Missions – During each round, all players will play the same mission. Missions will be drawn from the “More Missions” pdf (https://www.flamesofwar.com/hobby.aspx? art_id=5507) and they will be selected immediately after the list due date and will be published at that time. Two of each of the following groups of missions will be selected:
• Dust-up, Encounter, Free for All;
• Bridgehead, No Retreat, Rearguard;
• Breakthrough, Counterattack, Contact;
• (Annihilation will not be used. Raiding missions will not be used.)

Yes, everyone plays the same scenario. See rules pack, page ': "During each round, all players will play the same mission."

The plan for a list is revealed at the moment that it is first offered for matchup. See rules pack, page 3: "The battle plan for each list is revealed at step 3, 7 or 8 when its match-up is done."

Hope this helps,
Graham

Yes This is exactly what is meant by "The battle plan for each list is revealed at step 3, 7 or 8 when its match-up is done" in the rules pack.

Is that clearer?

THANKS.

That’s terrible for the match up process which is now close to poker.
But that’s life.

Graham,

Sorry that was not my understanding during the comitee discussion.
I thought that we said :
1.at the start of each round BP's have to be allocated to each list of the team.
2. BP's will be visible to the opponent team once a list "thrown" in the pairing.
For exemple team A has to choose between 2 lists of team B but knows at that moment which BP has been allocared to each list.

Did I understand it wrong?

Hi Graham,

When we discussed the matter in Bucharest, you actually also confirmed that the battle plan will be known once a list is offered for pairing, namely BEFORE the opponent matches it up with his 2 lists.

As I understand it goes like this:

1. Player A puts a list face down (all secret)
2. Player B puts a list face down (all secret)
3. Both reveal the list AND the battle plan, before offering their own 2 lists for matchup.

I mean, since lists are in a sleeve with the battle plan, it would be only logical to reveal the battle plan with the list, so after player B puts down his first list, but before he puts down his answers to player A's list.

+1 with Dirkhrod

Makes more sense to actually know what´s the battle plan of the list before deciding how to pair them.
You are not « clicking » the same way an army which is set in « Attack » or in « Defence ».

So what do we do ?
Is the rules pack corrected as per intentions of the commitee ?
