Austria also stated in some place somewhere that Zagreb is just too close for them to miss in any case.

Another team that has not yet been confirmed also seems to be on a good way to form a team.

I hope Wales and the 2 Irish teams reconsider...now it is clear it will be a well attended ETC it would be a shame if they are not present.
Also the other teams that are currently "no" might reconsider?

Dave I wouldnt use the well attended it will be smaller than normal.

However we don’t have the players and I believe this is the case for NI and I. I mean Scotland only got a team by gaining players from NI when they dropped out. About half our players have given up in FOW and I doubt they will be coming back. Similar to the situation with England but they have more people to recruit a new team from.

I acknowledge it will be smaller than previous years and tbh I have personal reservations about V4 as you know.
However I am attending as most of the remaining Team NZ guys are prepared to give V4 a fair crack and without me Team NZ is not quorate.
So I am going with modest expectations about the gaming experience, but looking forward to seeing a new city and meeting up with friends old and new, tinged with sadness that some will not be there.
I'll raise a glass or several to absent friends however!

NI had to drop out because we couldn't find enough players to make a legal team :( . It was a similar case for Ireland.

If N.Ireland and Ireland can form a combined non-legal team there is maybe an opportunity there Jonny? Non-legal teams have been allowed in 40K with approval from the 40K CC so there is precedent. We just took away their vote legitimacy the year after.

We tried that route and unfortunately some of the NI players had already joined Scotland. We have 3 from Ireland willing to go, and only 1-2 from Northern Ireland.

No expert in the charter... but with three Irish dont you have a legal Irish team?

Add the two NI players and find a merc (some offers at hand on the forum currently) and you have a team.

Far from ideal, but surely functional.

Yes, you only need %50 nationality. In extreme situations this can be extended to even 2 nationals with chairmen approval for situations like last minute drop outs.

So 3 Irish players can form an Ireland team no problem.

Of the 3 from Ireland, one is Irish, one is Polish and one is Turkish, so that doesn't really fulfill requirements. With NI, one was only interested in playing for a mostly Nordie team, and I've since swam the Irish Sea and joined Team Scotland.

It is a shame that we couldn't rustle up even one team from the island, especially since players from both countries can legally play for either team.

Listen, the situation is bad, and if at least three players form Norn Iron and Ireland can come together as United Ireland team, I personally (and I also believe the community as well) will find no objection provided the chairmen aprove.
Also, if I am not mistaken, any proof of residence or national heritage can be used (Like residence visa, or Fathers birth certificate from Dublin?) . . . "passport holder" is only a wildly used term . . . I'm pretty confident this is the case, but I may be wrong . . .
There is no problem, a large artillery template can't solve.

ETC 2015 - Sidekick FoW referee.
ETC 2016 - Chairman.
ETC 2017 - FoW referee, NOT the most favourite person on the venue :D.
ETC 2018 - Planning on being there, since there are no 'muricans in EW still striving towards the title of most consecutive ETC-s visited without playing a single game.

Hi

Team NI captain here. Thank you for your generous suggestions. I for one qualify for both North and South (Grandmother). However there are simply not enough players on the island playing V4 early war. Next year will be completely different but the decision has been made for this year sadly.

Available NI players who wish to attend have already found themselves other teams.

Apart from anything else my management has already made me other plans for this year!

I hope the event goes well, as its BF's fault, not yours, and team NI will certainly be back in 2019.

Cheers

Matt
