NEW CLARIFICATIONS!Different Versions Of Rules
Some of you may have noticed recently an article kicking around Bell of Lost Souls. Namely this one:http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2016/02/ ... rules.html
What it tells us is that there is a little box somewhere in a Games Workshop publications, White Dwarf I believe, which basically says use any version of a units rules you want. This is rubbish.
The ruling for the Pillage is as it should be - use the most recently released version
So if there are Space Wolves units with rules in Curse of the Wulfen, those are the most recent and those are the ones to use.
Likewise, the updated rerelease of Waaagh! Ghazghul and Farsight Enclaves are the most recent, and these are the supplements which should be used.WITH THE EXCEPTION OF BELAKOR.
Because of the way Belakor has been changed, Chaos Space Marines
may use the previous version of Belakor (from his dataslate), however Chaos Daemons must use the newer Daemons only version.Genestealer Cult Allies
Another recent piece of confusion (thank you Games Worksop "play testers") is the issue of the new Genestealer Cults and how they work on the Allies matrix.http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2016/03/ ... uzzle.html
"Genestealer Cults ally in exactly the same way as Tyranids, as described in the Allies section of Warhammer 40,000: The Rules."
There is a question of rules as intended or rules as written, because as written it reads that they work the same way as Tyranids, meaning they are Come The Apocalypse with everyone. Even with Tyranids.
For the purposes of the Pillage, read that rules as "Genestealer Cults ally AS IF THEY WERE Tyranids"
. Meaning they are Come The Apocalypse with everyone just like Tyranids, but Battle Brothers with actual Tyranids.
