Hordes Genesis, Primal Mkii launch event - 8th August, Winsford, Cheshire.

After the massive success, or at least not a disater, that was the Pre-Masters Mash Up I am looking to host another tournament at our club in sunny Winsford.

The event will follow the Genesis rules pack which can be found here, with the following ammendments...

First things first, Warmachine is allowed!

Next up, army lists. The first round will feature 25 point games, with 8 minute turns. No epic models or non-warlock/warcaster character models can be used except for character models from HORDES: Primal Mkii (because this is a Primal release event).

The second round will use 35 point games. A player’s 35 point army list must use the same models as their 25 point list plus additional models. These additional models may include epic models and character warbeasts/warjacks (see below) but no non-warlock/warcaster character warrior models. Players can also upgrade to the epic version of their warlock/warcaster. If a players wishes to they can upgrade the following warbeasts/warjacks by spending the difference in points between the two models:

• Dire Troll ⇒ Mulg the Ancient
• Construct heavy warbeast ⇒ Megalith
• Cyclops ⇒ Molik Karn
• Legion heavy warbeast ⇒ Typhon
• Ironclad ⇒ Ol' Rowdy
• Lancer ⇒ Thorn
• Crusader ⇒ Fire of Salvation
• Revenger ⇒ Blessing of Vengence
• Juggernaut ⇒ Beast 09
• Beserker ⇒ Drago
• Slayer ⇒ Nightmare

The third round (and all subsequent rounds) will use 50 point games. A player’s 50 point army list must use the same models as his 35 point list plus additional models. These additional models may include any legal model for their army. Players must use the same version of the warlock/warcaster as in their second round list. As in the second round, players may upgrade warbeasts/warjacks to their character version by spending the difference in points between the two models as noted in the table above.

The cost for the day is going to be £10.

The schedule will be as follows...

9.00 am to 9.30 am - Arrival and Registration
9.30 am to 10.45 am - Game One (25 pts)
10.45 am to 11.00 am - Break
11.00 pm to 12.30 pm - Game Two (35 pts)
12.30 pm to 1.00 pm - Lunch
1.00 pm to 3.00 pm - Game Three (50 pts)
3.00 pm to 3.15 pm - Break
3.15 pm to 5.15 pm - Game Four (50 pts)
5.15 pm to 5.30 pm - Pack Away
5.30 pm to 6.00 pm - Awards

Prizes
As per the Genesis pack there will be a coin for 1st place, plus a coin for the best player in each of the Hordes factions (Trolls, Circle, Skorne and Legion)

Additionaly there will be a trophy for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.

Places will be strictly limited to 16 and I will update this post with entrants names as I get them. Let me know, either with a reply in this thread or a PM if you wish to attend.

Payment is required in order to reserve your place and can be made by cheque or PayPal. If you are sending payment by cheque let me know and I'll hold a place for a few days.

Lists will be required by Sunday 1st August, 7 days before the event, so the first round draw and list verification can be done.

haha, of course they look better, and sometimes perform better when painted, but are there bonus Tournie Brownies for shunning Regulation Silver?

edit:
Speaking of brownies, call it... An experimental idea but what if entrants each got a delicious freshly baked Chocolate brownie- firm on the outside but with a gooey centre?

Undoubtedly you'll play out of your skin as usual against me and then fold like a wet paper bag in your second game....I wanna play you second! ;)

I shall look forward to it if I can go.

Tep, that and the big killer this week has been sorting out the time table, 18 classes at KS3 with 11 of them split and several between three staff, it's pee poor, poh and only two of the staff being right for that as well, not going to get on to KS4, external time tablers suck balls!
