2017 ETC T9A Tournamen Pack Draft

Postby pizzaguardian » Tue May 09, 2017 2:01 pm

Note: This is NOT a final draft, it is just what we have so far.

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BywUe ... EVVM18tUmc

It is much lighter since we refer to the tournament and the map pack for a lot of the rules.

Some of the mistakes might be on my end since i am not a player of this game, so approach calmly. :)

My team think matches should last longer, which will help with stalling. Minimum 4 hours.

Considering we only play two games per day I think this can definately be a valid option.

So a timetable like the one in 40k?

Friday August 4th
Round 1 : 9.30 - 13.30
Round 2 : 14.30 - 18.30

Saturday August 5th
Round 3 : 9.30 - 13.30
Round 4 : 14.30 - 18.30

Sunday August 6th
Round 5 : 9.00 – 13.00
Round 6 : 14.00 - 18.00
Awards: 18.30 – 19.00

Edited for 4 hours total. Would 4 and a half hours be better considering pairings?

That timetable looks good imo... I think weve had 3.5hrs including pairings other years, so 4 all up would be great. 4.5 is probs too much.

Last year it was already 4h per game (including pairings).

In Herford warm-up, many games were not ended (even stopping at turn 4) and we had 3,5h per game (including pairings).
4:15 or even 4:30 seems better to me. I prefer to use up to 1h more per day and be more relaxed at the table.

All looks good for Team Norway. Just a question about list formatting. Suggestion in this rulepack is:

Team: [country]
[player name] [(c)], [full army name]
[lord name] [on mount]: [general], [magic level], [lore], [ability1], [ability2], [item1], [item2], [Magic item1], [magic item 2], [cost]
[hero name] [on mount]: [BSB], [magic level], [lore],[ability1], [ability2], [item1], [item2], [Magic item1], [magic item 2], [cost]
[number of units x] [number of models] [core name]: [FCG], [option1], [option2], [cost]
Total: [total cost]

This is quite different from what 9th age tournament rulespack uses:

[ Name ] “ [ Nickname ] ” [ Last Name ] - [ Army ] - [specific Army Organisation]
[Points] - [ Unit1 ], [General/BSB ], [Marks, Virtues , etc.], [X (amount) Spells], [Mount], [Equipment], [Magic
Equipment], [Wizard Master, Vampiric Bloodlines , Gifts of the Dark Gods , etc.], [Magic Path]
[Points] - [Amount] [ Unit1 ], [Marks etc.], [Equipment], [M, S, C], [Magic Banner]
[ total points ]
Example:
John “9 th -Addict” Smith – Infernal Dwarves
890 - Overlord , General , Great Bull of Shamut, Infernal Weapon, Ring of Desiccation
826 - Prophet , 3 Spells, Temple Lamassu + one extra Spell, Flintlock Axe, Hardened Shield, Steel Skin, Besheluks
Mechanism, Engineer, Occultism
284 - Vizier , BSB , Shield, Banner of the Brazen Bull
330 - 10x Citadel Guard , Flintlock Axe, M, C
130 - 10x Infernal Warriors
800 - 35x Infernal Warriors , Great Weapon, M, C, S, Banner of Nezibkesh

Which one is best? I dont`t know, but maybe the last one so we only operate with one standard?

Regards,

Summer of 2014: 1st time dad
ESC 2015: 15th place
ETC 2016: Team Norway captain - Empire of Sonnstahl

Summer of 2018: 2nd time dad

We would need country name as well, i didn't bother with changing from last years format but if people think it would be better.

Team : [Country]
[ Name ] “ [ Nickname ] ” [ Last Name ] - [ Army ] - [specific Army Organisation]
[Points] - [ Unit1 ], [General/BSB ], [Marks, Virtues , etc.], [X (amount) Spells], [Mount], [Equipment], [Magic
Equipment], [Wizard Master, Vampiric Bloodlines , Gifts of the Dark Gods , etc.], [Magic Path]
[Points] - [Amount] [ Unit1 ], [Marks etc.], [Equipment], [M, S, C], [Magic Banner]
[ total points ]

Example:
Team England
John “9 th -Addict” Smith – Infernal Dwarves
890 - Overlord , General , Great Bull of Shamut, Infernal Weapon, Ring of Desiccation
826 - Prophet , 3 Spells, Temple Lamassu + one extra Spell, Flintlock Axe, Hardened Shield, Steel Skin, Besheluks
Mechanism, Engineer, Occultism
284 - Vizier , BSB , Shield, Banner of the Brazen Bull
330 - 10x Citadel Guard , Flintlock Axe, M, C
130 - 10x Infernal Warriors
800 - 35x Infernal Warriors , Great Weapon, M, C, S, Banner of Nezibkesh

This format is better than the current one?

Points on the right hand side of each entry as per last year please.
I find it much harder to read a list if each entry starts with a number.

Is there any chance for a vote on game length? We feel that at most 30mins for match ups and 2.5/3 hours for games is needed.

You might be on your own here, as we already changed it to 4 hours by public request to match last years schedule

And some people wanted 4.30 rounds

Same as mike newman, i don't think there is enough requesting teams for that. If a surprising amount of captains show up for this in a short time i will set up a vote for it.

If not, i am getting ready to seal the tournament pack for this year.

With so many nightly activities (of which makes ETC so great!), I feel that allowing players more sleep time would be preferred over playing games later in the afternoon.

Has anyone considered kicking off ETC Fri/Sat at 10am, and Sunday beginning 9:30am? Indeed, it would push the official round times to finish at 7pm, however in my experience, many teams will have finished all their games by the deadline and only a handful of games would be played at/near 7pm.

To do the above, just push everything (lunch etc) back by 30 minutes, including your alarm clock :)

I fully agree with Chris. Spain in the summer always begs for you to stay up that wee bit longer and drink Sangria till you drop. Some extra sleep would go down real good. Also... why make us wake up so early on holidays?? First week of August in Spain it doesnt get dark till after 10pm and places to eat dont close till after midnight... finishing at 7pm would be just fine.

IMO we should consider times for last day, as many players use to book return flights on Sunday, right after ETC ends.

Would have been slightly better if you said this before publishing the pack, :) .

Can i suggest pushing the friday/saturday schedule 1 hour instead of an half. That way t9a schedule will have different lunchtime with 40k and there will be less queus for food.

As I understand it lunch is to be a buffet.

If this is self service can we double check that if we are an hour late for lunch there will stil be some left :)

We need to know differents timetables to decide how will be organized the service... or self service ;) ... We have rented an exclusive saloon for lunch and we agreed these menus with a catering for buffet ( not double check, but you can wait at the end and if they haven't eaten everything... ;) )

In adition we are trying to make an arrangment with hotel.. to offer a similar menu at same price in their restaurant, we could increase the seats and will be available to eat more people at same time, it would be more comfortable for all.

Next days we will refresh lunchs info at webside and will explain whatever you need to know.

Do you guys still want to push friday, saturday for only half an hour? Or one hour is acceptable for you so lunch queues won't be so crowded.

Ok that wasn't a yes or no question, so i assume you are talking about only half our?

Ps. As a side note, i made a single document out of the ETC tournament Pack, T9A tournament pack and T9A map pack, if you like it this will be the document that will be printed as the tournament pack for the captains.
