Movement trays

Postby mike newman » Tue Mar 21, 2017 1:25 pm

So after a fantastic weekend in Luxembourg at the team event, I would like to make a request - potentially to be included in the referees pack.

Movement trays.

Personally I played (and with no disrespect to my opponents, who were all fantastic);

2 opponents without movement trays for ranked units - meaning they had to be moved model by model, which not only takes time, but also in a game where accurate measurements and arcs are important - and your unit is a jagged, curved line - unpractical.

3 opponents without movement trays for skirmishes - which becomes even more of a headache when you add to the above the free reforms skirmishes often have, and the fact they are meant to be a set distance apart.

It also raises suspicion when I have spare movement trays and I offer them to my opponent and he refuses them.

As it happens I had no issues at the weekend, mainly because if I did the issue was not worth arguing about.

But this is something I would like to see enforced at the ETC event, and I welcome any discussion on the matter.

Ranked units without a movement tray is unacceptable... and for you to offer them yours and have them refused, even more. It leads to slow-playing. Skirmish units without skirmish trays just leads to outright cheating in the movement phase. I carry many spare trays, both for ranked and skirmish units, and I refuse to allow my opponent to play without them.

if we use the official tournament-pack movement-trays are mandatory for all units consisting of more than 3 models. Should solve the issue :)

Why 3?

Does a unit of 2 skirmishing fell bats not need a move tray?

for the bats it makes sense as well and i think if there is no case where trays for less than 3 causes problems, it can easiely be changed in the tournament pack
