Dudley Darklords would like to present:

The Midlands Open - 31/07/10 & 01/08/10
A 2250pts, 5 game, Warhammer Fantasy Battle Tournament

Venue: Brierley Hill Civic Hall
Bank Street
Brierley Hill
West Midlands
DY5 3DH

Cost: £30.00 per ticket, including the tournament event and buffet lunch both days. We have limited tickets, but expecting to sell out quickly based upon the last 2 day 100 player events this year. You can purchase tickets by sending your payment through paypal to: lukemchughrooney@hotmail.co.uk , quoting player names. If you wish to send a cheque, please make payable to Luke McHugh, and send me a PM (Private Message) for the postal address.

Only paid entrants have guaranteed places. The first 100 tickets sold have a guaranteed place. Any over this and I will enquire about extending the venue hire to allow this to be increased. Those of you who have reserved tickets through my other post have them reserved for 7 days. If I do not receive payment by then, you will be taken off the list.

Accommodation:

Travelodge Birmingham Dudley Hotel - http://www.travelodge.co.uk
A461 Dudley Road, Dudley - 0870 191 1563

The Copthorne Hotel, Level Street, Brierley Hill - 01384 482 882

I am awaiting a group booking code from the Travel Lodge, which is loacted near to the Civic Hall (a few minute walk), and will update here with the code, and price per room. You can book rooms now which are aroud £50.00 per room per night, which sleep 3 people, so isnt expensive, but will update with lower rates asap. UPDATE

I have spoken to the Travel Lodge, who have given me the following information:

The cheapest way of booking a room is through their internet site (address can be seen above). they have a total of 32 rooms still available for the 30/07/10 and the 31/07/10. Their special offer is currently £29.00 - £39.00 per room per night through the website. After the room allowance has been reached the price increases to £50.00 and few pence depending on room size.

The venue is easily accessible as is situated near Merry Hill Shopping Centre, The Waterfront, Dudley, and Wolverhampton.

Tournament:
Players will participate in 5 pitched batttle games as per the Warhammer Fantasy Battle Rule Book. We will be scoring the event based on the popular 20-0 system. Games will be played on 6ft x 4ft tables, where each player is requested to bring 3 pieces of scenary each. Army lists will be compted with the usual restrictions i.e. no triple special, no double rare, max power dice, race specific etc.

Rules Pack:

Ammended Rulespack link :Ammended Rulespack

Grudges:
Grudges will be allowed. (Let the smack talk commence)

Players:
I will update here paid players, reserves, army choice, team.

Please see new thread Link To New Thread

I would like to thank all players, friends, and forum users for their input so far, and hope the event will be enjoyable for all. If you have any question please feel free to PM me, email me.

Good luck, and thank you

Kind Regards

Hey,

Definately up for this one! I need to check with mates to see who wants to come. Any chance you could reserve places for Chris Tomlin +3 for now and I'll confirm and pay in the next few days.

Thanks a lot,
Chris

I think the rooms are even cheaper than that.

I just booked a TWIN occupancy Family Room at the Tavellodge 0.4miles from the venue. It's cost me £47.50 for two nights including booking fee.

That's mental.

Hey,

If you could replace two of the 'Chris Tomlins' with Scott Lines and Ben Diesel that'd be brilliant. They'll send off payment themselves tonight/tomorrow. Still need to check the 4th place and then I'll send my payment.

Cheers,
Chris

Ok guys,

To my reconing thats 42 players already! Cheers for the great response so far, but I would advise to send payment across asap to ensure a place.

I am currently speaking to a few people about sponsorship of the event, so more prizes for the winners!

Kind Regards

Luke
