Your welcome Justin, its not as far away as you might think, its only four months you know.

Thank you though for taking the time and effort to make such a helpful post.

Always happy to help, as you know.

The latest beneficiaries are the participants in the Sumerian campaign weekend at Nottingham, with 4000 points of my Sumerians on loan. Its amazing what can be achieved behind the scenes.

I'm going to provisionally say i'll come to this. I'm challenging myself to purchase and paint a WAB army between now and the event! I really need a WAB army again from the dark ages, so i've gone for almoravids, I think i've the highest chances of getting these guys painted.

Best I order them from Gripping Beast pronto!

I was going to do an egyptian army, and I still will, but theres not many events for it at the moment, so these guys will do as my nice sandy looking army.

Minis are here, wish me luck!

Tommy, when you say no Christian Knights from El Cid, do you mean the merc knights from the allies lists?

This is only a limitation to Christian Holy Order Knights, as part of a main list or allies.

You can take Mercs from the dogs or war section. Good rule of thumb, if it has barding or even the option for barding you can not have it :)

Gotcha, cheers mate. I think I might stick to Islamic Fundamentalists anyway now that i've looked up the lists properly, maybe with a unit of Ghuzz Horse Archers in there just to give me a fun unit.

So glad you've disabled berserkers from shield wall!!!

This is only a limitation to Christian Holy Order Knights, as part of a main list or allies.

But none of the lists that you specified can take Military Order Knights anyway.

As it stands both the Andalusians and the Almoravids have access to heavy cavalry with ferocious charge via the mercenaries section. The early christian list dosn't have access to these knights, was this what you were trying to even out?

Yes, I want to. I've not been to Maelstrom yet so I'd also be interested to see what they've done.

Steve will be a no show as I think he's already got other plans for that weekend.

You would make 10 Tim, so nicely balanced. I would enter if it evened up the numbers, I have a Norman army which has not seen the light of day for a long time.

Now its nearer the time, choices have to be made.

Four weeks left to enter this event.

I have been told by Maelstrom that there is no issue with occupancy for this event, so if you want to bring a party of folks down, please do so.

I am trying to organise a group from the CACK club - strange how everyone has been building a Dark Age army - should we be aiming for an odd or even number of folks?

I am easy either way Justin, if we end up with an odd number overall I will step in and play so no one will loose out.

Looking forward to this. Dont forget Tommy, that I would like to "GRUDGE" Keith Tait for my first game. Not played him in ages (used to be a regular weekly opponent).
