KoW - North West England

Postby KevinGillett » Fri Oct 09, 2015 8:56 am

Hi all

Is there anywhere particularly in the NW where KoW is popular. A few of us are just in the middle of changing armies over to play this game (in Liverpool) but unfortunately i don't have the time atm to run events (possibly a one dayer though in the new year if i've got enough experience myself) or help build the scene much as i had previously with WHFB in the local area.

I had offered and contacted mantic saying i would help around the launch but no reply, and had the backing of the scythe and teacup gaming cafe as a venue to do so, but they heard nothing either (i am led to believe) which is why i have only just started reading the rulebook.

It is definitely the game i am wanting to play though, so any Local-ish people, give me a shout

Cheers

Kevin

Jez and I play in Macclesfield and travel up to the Northwest gaming centre in Stockport to play sometimes. There are probably around 10 or so occasional players there.

I also hear there are players in Preston and we have a Pathfinder in Manchester.

Note Tim the last Clash of Kings organiser is leaving Mantic and will be starting as the Events organiser at Element Games (next to the NW gaming centre) shortly. This should hopefully see more KoW being played as Tim is a big fan of the game.

If you’d like to meet up there for a game some time let me know. :)

I'll be up for games soon Kev, just transferring onto proper bases...

Do we think that we can transfer some of the other 8th ed players in Liverpool? Or are they all too entrenched in GW?

Hope there are more KOW events next year to travel to.

Cheers for the replies

Daniel - any events, especially one day ones at the NWGC, i would do my best to get to. Might be slightly dependent on times though for trains.

Am at the end of the M62 and dont drive so trips across for one off games arent always viable, a couple pre-arranged on a weekend may be if Cai (BigBird) is ever up for it, and can swap opponents after one game?

Pete - Definitely be up for playing games v yourself. Much going on at your club? Hope you're doing well?
Unsure how near i am now (Bowring Park, near Roby stations) and if i can get down better than i used to, will check

I'm hopeful there should be some 1 day KoW events at Element Games/NWGC next year. :)

That's good news, keep 'em around the 2k points mark, and I'm in.

That would be great.

Hoping to attend some 2 day events next year, are there many two dayers yet?

The Clash of Kings final is a two day event but most UK KoW events are one dayers at the moment.
