Re: history of skaven

Yes and no. Skaven have some sort of presence under every large Empire city, but by no means the only place to find them. Chief enemy tends to vary, but in a sense it'd be man maybe. Though in reality Skaven's biggest opponents are often Skaven. But Goblins and Dwarfs are great opponents for control...

That's rather inconvenient. And an ongoing concern for ppl continuing 8th.

As you might have suspected the unique rules of Krog-Gar are indeed unique to him.

That'd be rather easily checked in your 8th ed Lizardmen armybook now wouldn't it?

Re: Harpies fly over units VS charge

Yes harpies vs warmachines is a very good idea. In 8th ed models block LoS not units. So a unit of harpies can start behind another unit such as coldones and charge provided they can see between/ through the other unit, which is going to be likely. If you have LoS before you can fly over other units...

Re: Couple of questions about WFB 5th and 6th

Hi all, Going back with a few friends to play some Warhammer 5th Edition, and had a quick question: The book mentions both soft and hard cover, but I can't find very many specifics on how you tell if an enemy unit is actually counted as being in soft or hard cover. Is it when half or more of the un...

Real dwarves write down the grudges in a leather-bound book. Like mah friend does.
Has 10-15 years worth of grudges in like two of those by now.

And he gives out those grudge cards too. Or used to.

They do do some games contrary or tangential to the current fluff. Blood Bowl hardly fitted into the dark gritty fantasy of the Warhammer world... It did fit the not so serious tone for when it was conceived though. With Angsty Hammer BB was phased out a for awhile. And how is it not gritty? Not ex...

How could a goblin know how far he can glide before suicide bombing down onto a point? If my crew who have undoubtedly shot a war machine hundreds of times do not know prior to firing the weapon how far it will go how can a goblin who only ever suicide bombs once by definition of suicide? Thank you...

I asked at my FLGS about it, as they also have a sizable input into the local main gaming club as well. Take up of AoS is "slow" with a dour expression, so at least for our local situation in Shropshire, England, not looking all that hot. He did also mention that no-one wanted to spend £3...

Yep, I know, but as i said before, always within 3 inch from another unit, and is it interesting for an opponent to shoot a single target of 80 ptn with a full regiment, with the risk that it’s all for nothing (look out sire rule…?). And when I use 3 sorceresses of level 1, the targets are divided…...

Re: GLORIOUS - Total War trailer

It's not the standard for TW games though. Rome 2 certainly went in that direction but I am hoping TW Warhammer won't. In a game series stretching over 15 years there might not be "standard" for things that wasn't exactly feasible until a few years ago. I for one won't be surprised in the...

I like the point about Kings of War relying heavily/exclusively on Kickstarter to get things going. How is that a stable platform to build...

It's not unreasonable that GW is insisting the GNC do something illegal? I've heard of far worse things, such as school requiring parents coming on school trips to have DBS checks. Sadly this is the world we live in and while I like a jab at GW as much as anyone else, I really don't see the issue h...

To be honest, it doesn't seem like a totally unreasonable request, given the times we live in. I don't know the UK laws, but in the US, its actually not uncommon for businesses to require a background check, especially those that work with children. Its also fairly common for the same for the purpo...

I don't like it when companies just straight up copy other games, because it leads to stagnation and lack of creativity (just watch CoD/MoH copying each other!). Re: It's that time of year - GW annual financial report

Does AoS sell well? Not locally at any rate. Of course selling is conditional, what GW sees as sales can be the first few boxes a store was tricked/forced into buying, the latter being the case for the LGS to keep up with certain requirements of being a GW seller. No one locally is interested in AoS...
