Re: Rend rules question

I assume they do not get the bonus for Bloodshields due to the Dark Mist spell. The source of the benefit for Bloodshields is the enemy fighting the Bloodknights. The spell doesn't effect them and therefore while their rend is ignored it still exists to negate the Bloodshields.

Re: age of sigmar - best rules for balanced games?

The best system is to know your opponent, have a chat about what type of game you want in advance. Discuss the scenario in advance too. Then try to make a thematic army that you will enjoy playing and that it is fun to fight against. For pick-up games with strangers then I do advise Mo-comp, however...

Rolling for terrain

Are people rolling for every terrain piece as per the rules? I have been thinking of modelling a few pieces to represent the six types on the chart and rolling for the pieces before deployment to pre-select what to put down from my collection. Combining that with the fact that I haven't been rolling...

Re: Let's discuss Large units vs multiple small units.

It is very dependent on the comp and scenario being used. I think a strength of the system is that you have to change unit sizes based on what you are facing off against and trying to achieve. there really isn't one definitive answer.

Re: Question- exalted deathbringer ...?

Well there are a few interpretations. My one would be to measure from his base to 12" and see if the general is within that. As ranges are measured from the base he himself can't be within the range. In terms of what it represents on the battlefield the Deathbringer is trying to impress Khorne ...

It isn't on the wizards warscroll. It is on the units warscroll when it is in play.

Re: My first three AoS games, TK are kicking it.

The issue he pointed out here is that in the first game Norbert summoned skeletal archers without having any in his army at the start of the game. Exactly, you have to have the Warscroll deployed on the table (there aren't reserves to put them in) to be able to summon more. Chain summoning is an is...

Re: My first three AoS games, TK are kicking it.

Summoning works differently than you played it. You only get access to the summoning spells if you already have that Warscroll in your army. The spell is provided by the scroll and not by the wizard, otherwise it would be on the wizards card.

Just play the game to enjoy it and worry about winning as a secondary concern. We play to have fun, or at least I do. I can have fun and lose horribly. Gaming involves or should involve an explicit social contract with your opponent.

Points were never balanced anyway so why complain they are going. It would seem that model count within the Warscrolls will be the balancing factor.
