Irresistible Force Vs. Miscast

Before eight edition, a Miscast occured on a double ones, and a Irresistible Force on double sixes. When eight was released, it seemed to me, that GW was being a bit lazy by incorperating both MC and IF into the same dice roll. I think that reverting to Miscasts occuring on double ones, while also t...

Re: Bretonnia

The blessing mechanism needs to change, IMHO. Sacrificing the first turn is fine in your standard Battle Line game. But several scenarios have special rules regarding who goes first, with no explanation how to treat the Bretonnian Blessing in these games. It is also a headache to work out when you p...

Re: It's that time of year - GW annual financial report

How long was it between the release of 8th edition and the first army book? Something like eight months?

This kind of ineptitude is not new to Games Workshop.

Re: I think I know what happened to the Aelfs...

I think you overdid the Nuln Oil wash on the tail, ears and nose. A quick drybrush should clear that up. I like your conversion skills, but I can't help but feel that the monster looks more lazy than frightening. But that is just my subjective opinion, of course. Thirdly, many tournaments require th...

Re: ---- Azyr Comp

Two quick questions about Bretonnia. 1. What makes Mounted Yeomen more expensive than Knight Errants? Bows? 2. I can take 6 Battle Pilgrims for a point. How do I factor in the Reliquae? Overall, I really like it. It seems quick and easy to put together a force. There is still the problem of units co...

Re: High elves bolt thrower

The Bolt Thrower consists of the machine and the crew, it says so on the warscroll. They're not separate units so the controlling player gets to allocate any and all wounds however he chooses. Score enough wounds and he will allocate some to the crew in order to keep the machine on the table, and t...

King of hammers, or hammering a King?

First of, congrats TWF with this new sub forum. Long may it live. I have all of the sudden taken a keen interest in KoW, without having much knowledge about how it plays out. My main reason is dissatisfaction with the route Games Workshop had taken their Fantasy line, and I strongly suspect many of ...

Corax White Spray = Skull White Spray?

So, is the new Corax White Spray from Games Workshop the replacement for Skull White Spray?

Are they the same, or is there any difference?

Re: Well crap. Guess I'll never do conversions again. :(

They 'cut' all the units they don't have models for. This doesn't mean that the models will never be released. The whole point of the war scrolls is so they can release models with their rules attached. Saying never going to be used again is a bit dramatic. Perhaps "most likely not going to ge...

Nah, this is quality for us old timers. Youngsters will be scared away by the graphics, and the lack of achievements available.

Re: Shadow of the Horned rat

That game was ahead of it's time. And desperately difficult. I can't recall if I ever beat it. Tough as nails. I remeber being slightly disapointed by Dark Omen. Boring story, and dumped down game mechanics in favor of better graphics. Even as a young kid, I was acting all "old and grumpy"...

I'll second what Vulcan said, I think they look good. The only thing I notice is the bases, which could use some grass/flock. But I am not even sure if you are finished with the bases.

Nice work :)

The loading time for my Amiga 600 usually gave me just enough time to paint up a character or a small unit.

This one is really only for people who have played the actual game.

So, did any of you have a strong opinion which was changed or reinforced after trying the game out for yourself? If so, in what way?

I voted for the Gyrocopter, I really like that paint job on the wood. Any chance for a recipe? ... but I didn't want to miss the challenge - it needs as much support as possible I think. I'll second this, I hope to see more people join in. I'll try to convince some buddies, and maybe make a shoutout...

Where does that picture say that Slaanesh is gone? All I see is a reference to the "Dark Brothers" who don't like to dine with rats at the table.
